Educators are expected to manage behavior, support regulation, and maintain learning environments without being taught how the nervous system actually functions in classrooms.

Nervous System Basics 101 was created to bridge that gap.

This course offers educators a clear, grounded understanding of nervous system science and how it shows up in real classrooms — not as theory, but as lived experience. It provides the foundational knowledge teachers need to make sense of student behavior, stress responses, and regulation needs across different ages and stages.

Together we are building nervous system literacy so classroom decisions feel more informed, humane, and sustainable.

This foundational course will explore:

  • Nervous system regulation and dysregulation in educational settings

  • Stress responses and how they show up in teachers and students

  • Allostatic load and the cumulative impact of school-based demands

  • How regulation, learning, and behavior are shaped by the body and the brain

  • Practical ways educators can support capacity over time

The focus is not on fixing behavior, but on understanding what the nervous system needs in order for learning and connection to be possible.
